Introductory Classes

 

 Taking an Introductory is a great way for you to get know our program, and meet our enthusiastic faculty!

Intro FAQs
  • How do I schedule an Introductory Class?
    Call our Support Team at 860.579.1154, 12 noon - 4 pm, M-F. We are happy to assist you. After speaking with you, we will send an email confirmation with all of the details of your Introductory class.
  • When are Introductory classes available?
    Introductory classes are available whenever classes are in session. They are scheduled during regular class time so new students can meet our faculty, assistants and classmates. Introductory classes may be taken in any class which has not yet reached capacity. ​
  • Can you hold a spot for me/my child until after the Intro Class?
    We're unable to hold spaces for students not yet enrolled at The Dance Extension. Since enrollment can change daily, we will contact you if the class fills prior to your scheduled Introductory class.
  • What attire is needed for the Introductory Class?
    Dancewear (any color) is preferred, however, comfortable athletic attire is permitted. Only dance shoes are permitted on our dance floors. We have a limited stock of used shoes at both studios to accommodate dancers taking Introductory classes. For hip hop, please bring clean sneakers that have not been worn outside so our floors remain free of dirt, grass, gravel, etc.
  • What is the cost?
    30-60 minute class: $15 per Introductory Class (Cash/Debit/Credit) 75-90 minute class: $20 per Introductory Class (Cash/Debit/Credit) Upon enrollment, the Introductory class fees may be deductible. If the Introductory class is taken on or after the processing date of the selected tuition plan's current installment, the fee is deductible from the current tuition installment.
  • What forms of payment do you accept for Introductory classes?
    Cash only. Thank you!
  • Can I change the Introductory class once it's scheduled?
    Yes. Please call our Support Team at 860.579.1154, 12 noon - 4 pm, M-F, and we will be happy to assist you.

  • When is the Annual Membership due?
    The Annual Membership is due upon enrollment. The member fee reserves a spot for you/your child in our space limited classes and is applied to insurance and administrative costs of enrollment.
  • How does Acrobatic Arts Benefit a Young Dancer?
    Benefits of Acrobatic (Acro) Dance: Acrobatic Arts program focuses on five main areas: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. The program increases technical levels of students in all other dance disciplines and adds verstility to the dancer's training. Not only does the student develop the foundational skills to perform aerials and back handsprings, Acro improves their ability to leap and turn in all dance technique classes.
